COMPUTING KEY KNOWLEDGE

At Belgrave, we are dedicated to offering a curriculum that empowers all learners to navigate the digital world safely, confidently, and creatively. Our approach encompasses three key strands: computer science, information technology, and digital literacy, ensuring that students gain a comprehensive understanding of technology's role in our lives.

Our computer science curriculum is designed to introduce students to the key principles of computer science, fostering their understanding of fundamental concepts and computational thinking skills. We prioritise building a strong foundation of vocabulary and terminology, ensuring that students can effectively communicate and navigate the digital realm. In addition to exploring computer science principles, our curriculum encourages students to explore a range of technologies and applications. From coding and programming to multimedia production and digital design, students have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and innovation. At Belgrave, we understand the importance of digital safety and responsible internet usage. That's why we prioritise teaching students how to navigate the online world critically and safely. Through discussions, activities, and practical exercises, we empower students to make informed decisions and be conscientious digital citizens.
