Belgrave have gone STEM Robot crazy!
STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects influence almost every part of our modern day lives and it is accepted that they will also drive our future. STEM activities don’t focus on subject knowledge, but instead develop skills, such as: problem solving, communication and effective evaluation. The aim of our STEM day was to introduce STEM to the children through the topic of robots, pupils of all ages made junk modelling robots, created algorithms, built robotic arms and much more! KS2 pupils also participated in a City wide Curiosity box project, completed in 70 Stoke-on-Trent schools, called Potterbot. This is a challenge to build a robot that can draw, using only simple electrical circuit apparatus.
The children (and staff!) had a fantastic day! Here are just a few photos of the fun we had!
