Recently reception had a visit from Ruth from the Packington Education Project.
She read the story 'The Little Red Hen' to all of the children and they were invited to join in with the animal noises, actions and the story refrains. The children also had a close look at the hen!
Ruth taught the children how to plant their own seeds in soil, showed them an ear of wheat and talked about the role of a combine harvester on a farm. They also got to use a grinder to grind the grain into flour and then tasted the bread made from the wheat.
Reception had lots of fun and loved looking at the Little Red Hen. Thank you Ruth!
